The Saluki is one of the oldest breeds, descended from ancient sighthounds. Sighthounds hunt by sight, not scent, and were first used in the Fertile Crescent. Salukis hunted with nomadic tribes.

Among the earliest domesticated dogs, Salukis are famous for their hunting skills and can run up to 43 mph. They are reserved and calm, living up to fourteen years.
Salukis enjoy running and need plenty of toys and exercise, even though they may look smaller than other hounds.
