3.Dark Lines Beneath the Nail
Dark lines under nails can result from injury, but if they appear without cause, see a doctor immediately. These streaks—known as melanonychia—may indicate subungual melanoma, a serious form of skin cancer. While some lines are harmless and related to pregnancy, medication, or ethnicity, any new or changing dark streak should be evaluated promptly. Early detection is critical for effective treatment.
