Another Idea
Maybe this little black dog did not belong in this forest, or maybe it should not be here at all. This thought crossed David’s mind. How could such a young animal end up in such a remote place? Was it possible someone had left it here on purpose? This theory seemed more likely. David wondered if someone had abandoned the puppy in the wild, leaving it alone and unprotected.
This thought made David even more determined to protect the little dog. If humans were responsible, he felt he had to act with kindness to fix this wrong.
